So this weekend has definitely been pretty eventful. Last night was the SAC Beach Party. We were going to take the shuttle out there but not all of us could fit on it. So we divided up and some of us drove in my car. We got there and had two frisbee games going in like two separate circles, but we ended up making just one giant circle. It was pretty fun and intense. A few times I ran into the water about knee deep to get it. Luckily I was wearing capris. The water wasnt' cold when I was in it, but when the air hit it, it got pretty cold. But right after running in the water and getting my legs wet, someone threw the frisbee and it landed between me and Tyler. We both ended up sliding for it, so up to my knees I was wet and sandy. Probably looked sort of funny. At one point it went pretty far out into the water. It was getting dark and we couldn't really see the frisbee, but instead of just letting it go, Elliot swims out to it! I thought he was going to get hypothermia. I'm pretty sure he's still alive though. But I haven't seen him today, so no gurantees. Heidi, Julie, and Carrie drove out there later, so Nate just stayed with them. But they didn't know that the park closes at 10. So they get up to their car, and there's a note on it that basically says they're screwed because the gate is locked, and they can get there car anytime after 7 am. So I'm sitting outside JP's with some of the girls, and I get this call asking me to come pick them up because they're locked in Tunnel Park. Funniest thing ever!! So I had to go on a late night rescue mission.
Today I had lunch with a student who is coming here in the fall. She's Catholic and was a little concern about how Catholics are treated at Hope, so I ate lunch with them and helped ease some of their fears. Luckily Laura came and joined us and I think they really appreciated having another student's perspective. She was really sweet, and I think she'll be a good fit for Hope.
Earlier this week we had our final South Dakota meeting. I'm not sure how I'm feeling about that right now. It's a mix of fear, anxiety, excitement, a little bit of everything. I did find out I'm going to be in a 2nd grade classroom though.
Anyway, I'm going to get back to homework before chillin with the girls later. Have a great rest of the year, as short as it is.

What has happened since the last time I updated?? Hmmm.... lots, actually. There was the conclusion of spring break which coincided with my birthday. So I got back to school and went to Johnny Carino's with the girls (actually, Dylana was missing). Julie got me "Newsies" on DVD for my birthday, so now we can be huge dorks and sing "Seize the Day" whenever we feel the urge. Carrie got me this really cool body spray that smells like White Cherry Blossom. She promised she wasn't trying to tell me anything by the gift (yeah right). And Heidi got all crafty and made me a really cool coffee mug. Like a travel mug, but she made like a collage in it with pictures of me and the girls. So cute.
The first week back to school wasn't too bad. Could have been worse, but it was still hard to get back into school mode and concentrate again. But this weekend was fun. I started off Friday by going down to the bowling alley with Kevin and watching our Special Ed. Ministries people bowl. They were so good! They bowl better than me. I'm so jealous. Then I came back and went to bother Lindsey, and me and her spontaneously decided to go clubbing in Grand Rapids, so we got all dressed up, and drive to Grand Rapids. We parked in a sketchy area, and started walking to the club, but when we were like halfway there, Lindsey asked me if I had my ID, and I realized I didn't. So we walked back and decided to drive closer. So we found closer parking and then when I went to get my ID out of my purse, I realized I had no ID on me whatsoever. No school ID, no driver's license- nothing. So we walked around Grand Rapids, went to TGI Friday and found where all the shops and coffee shops are. So it wasn't as eventful as we would have hoped. But it was still good to get off campus and out of Holland. Then we headed back to Holland, and Lindsey decided she needed to go to Meijer, and then when we get there, we run into Carrie and Megan, who were heading to Carrie aunt's house who are gone and Carrie is housesitting for them, so we headed there and helped bake a cake for Heidi's birthday.
Then on Saturday, I woke up early to work the Saturday morning tours, which went pretty well, but then I came back and slept the afternoon away. When I finally woke up, I showered and went to Meijer because someone stole my toothpaste!!! Yeah, who steals toothpaste out of someone's shower caddy?? Then we all went out to Applebee's for Heidi's birthday, then we came back to campus for a concert. They were called Down the Line. They were so good. Very different. But we ended up buying their CD. Check them out at www.downthelineband.com, they're pretty sweet. Then I went out to Carrie aunt's house to pick up Megan, then we hung out in Lindsey room, had some fun. Then me and Julie went to the midnight show of "Glory Road", even though I've seen it before. It was just as good the second time around. Then we came back and went to bed, and it really sucks that we had to Spring Forward. I'm totally thrown off right now. Oh well. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week!
